VNC Enterprise Edition 4.4.0 - released 7th May 2008

- NEW: VNC Address Book application.
- NEW: HTTP proxy support.

- Single sign-on now works cross-platform where supported by the operating system.
- Improved line-speed estimation for adapting to network speed.
- Use native password authentication by default.
- FIXED: Memory leak causing long-running servers to become sluggish.
VNC Enterprise Edition for Windows changes
- NEW: text-based chat between viewer and server.
- User-Mode servers configured to use Windows password authentication now allow access to the logged-on user by default.
- Improved dead key support.
- Added a workaround for Microsoft KB921337 bug.
- FIXED: Query connect dialog sometimes opens behind other windows.
- FIXED: Mirror driver problem capturing sub-pixel rendering.
- FIXED: Occasional failure to restore desktop effects such as alpha-blended icon text and the Aero user interface on disconnect.
- FIXED: File transfer truncating files on Vista SP 1.
- FIXED: File transfer fails for User-Mode servers on Windows XP and later.
- FIXED: Potential file transfer crash.
- FIXED: Potential crash on exit from VNC Viewer or VNC Server.
VNC Enterprise Edition for UNIX changes
- NEW: Better integration with Gnome and KDE, including a
server status icon in desktop environments that support this,
integration into the Applications menu and support for
.vncfiles. - Added support for desktop resizing to
Xvnc,x0vncserverand thevnc.somodule. - Added full support for desktop scaling to VNC Viewer.
- Improved
x0vncservermouse and screen capture efficiency. - Added clipboard support to
x0vncserver. - Improved support for palettised displays.
