VNC & RDC - No desktop loads

Hi,

I have a strange problem.  I can make a connection to a specific computer 
with VNC and RDC, however, the VNC screen just remains black and I never 
actually see the desktop of the remote computer and the RDC session never 
fully loads the profile, just hands on a blank screen and never shows the 
desktop.

Have you ever heard anything like this and do you have a solution?
