OK, this shows that the machine you telnet from connects fine and that there's
a VNC server running there. I guess the VNC version is the old protocol. I
am not familiar with the AppleMac VNC server.

This is a license issue or an incompatibility between the server version and
the viewer

Make sure that no other application is using port 5900 otherwise you *will*
get connection problems and instability.
