Problem with desktop icons (new user)

   Hi there!

   I have a quite stupid question, but it4s getting me really angry...

   Yesterday  i was working with VNC viewer in a Windows XP box, conected
   to  a  Linux  Red  Hat box, in some moment the connection was lost and
   after  i reconect, i lost all the icons in the desktop (linux desktop)
   How can I get them back to still working with some windows style?
