password auth error by Windows

i am trying for remote desktop in solaris through windows XP.
i am able to see windows desktop from solaris by same procedure. But cannot
access Solaris desktop screen from windows.
i get error message that " no passowd authenication" when i enterer password
in Windows XP.

I understand vncpasswd generated password and it is stored in obscure
letters in .vnc/passwd file.

pls help.
how to get through this?
