help about "reading version failed: not an RFB server?"

Hallo,
I have a vnc server (version 4.1) and a vnc viewer both with win xp.
When I try to connect I get this message:
"reading version failed: not an RFB server?"
>From the firewall log (sonicwall) it seems that nothing is blocked by the
firewall itself.
Some weeks ago the connection worked with no problem.
I have also tried to change the default port used by the vnc server but no
improvements so far.

Any idea about that? any suggested test?
