Black screen but other functions ok

Mattias,

This behaviour is normally caused by the server computer being configured
with too large an MTU for the network, which is sometimes the case when
running over a VPN.  Mouse & keyboard events get to the server OK because
they are small amounts of data, and so much much smaller than the MTU.
