ftp problems

Hi,

Glad to have access to this group.

I am trying to set up Real VNC Server 4 to allow me access while I am away 
fro a few months.  In the meantime, I am running a webcam tat uploads to a 
website every 15 minutes.  I tested the server and it works fine.  But 
while it is running in the background, I notice the image uploads fail and 
stall the webcam software.  I also get failures on regular uploads using an 
ftp program.  But when I kill the VNC program, things go back to 
normal.  Any reason VNC Server should interfere with independent background 
uploads?
